2012 is the year of positive results…

2012 is meant to be the year of positive change which is great news for everyone! 

How many of you have ever done a huge clutter clear at the end of the year, vowing never to allow clutter to build up again and set a new year’s resolution which you never followed through with?   Well I am guilty of that too (look I’m not perfect you know!!:)).  When you have clutter around you notice how tired you get, when you know you have so much to do, you feel overwhelmed don’t you.

I have used the last couple of days to do a huge clutter clear from a mindset and a physical angle.  Apart from many of the benefits of training as a Master in NLP, is that you have the tools to work on your own mindset and all I will say is “Wow”…I have gained more focus and got rid of some of those cobwebs sneaking around which I had allowed to hold me back in some areas of my life.  It’s been very refreshing, in fact I’ve already started to notice my energy levels starting to increase.  

Having cleared my space I am ready for 2012, and instead of thinking “I hope in the new year I can achieve xxx” I am stating positively I’m looking forward to achieving some big goals this year.   If you are ever going to move forward, it’s so important to create the space, clutter holds you back and this can be from a mindset as well as a physical point of view.  Once you have created that space, you too will feel the surge of positive energy and you’ll feel more than ready to take action.

Having coached and trained hundreds of successful VAs over the last ten years, I have seen many of them soar to great heights.  What has enabled so many to achieve that is the fact that at the start of the VA Mastery Course I get everyone to really focus and visualise specific goals on a long and short term basis and really get into the nitty gritty of the action required.  Yes, I know all coaches will harp on about goals BUT, would you get in the car and drive and have no clue of where you are going?  Or would you get on any plane and see where it takes you?  Of course not unless you are Thelma and Louise :) .

I appreciate that many of you may be stuck and not know what you want, you may just want to feel secure, have more money, have more clients, be able to pay your bills etc….from this basis you can create the foundation of your goals by ‘chunking down’ into more detail.  For instance…if you want more money, how much specifically do you want?  When do you want it by specifically and what will the more money enable you to do perhaps in your business or from a lifestyle point of view?

However, in order to create results in your VA business, explore what needs to change and what you need to start doing differently.  Perhaps you need to do a bit of a clutter clear and release some energy as clutter creates stagnation!

 
Whether you are aspiring to become a VA or you want to take your business even further forward, here are some areas to think about and put into practice and make 2012 the year of positive results:
 
Write down your answers and have a visual representation as well as to help make this exercise actually work for you:
 
1. What is the exact outcome you want? THINK BIG!
Imagine now being where you want to be, whether it is 8 months, 2 years or 5 years time -
 
·         What are you doing? 
·         Why do you want it?
·         What are your core values?
·         What does having this vision give you? I.e. built your confidence, sense of balance or achievement, more income.
·         What do you notice that is different for you and how (in positive terms)?
·         What will you be feeling, thinking, and seeing when you have it?
·         When specifically do you want it to happen? 
·         What will you be feeling, thinking, and seeing when you have it? 
·         What would be the positive consequence of taking the first step? 
·         What will motivate you to do something about it?

2. What are you doing at the moment, for example are you employed, going back to work after having a baby, in between jobs etc.?
 
Notice the gap between where you are now (your current reality) and what you want to achieve (your outcome).

3. Once you have noticed the gap, start to think about the actions you need to take in order to fill the gap.  Who do you know you can help you?  What resources do you need?  What knowledge or tools will you invest in to close the gap?  When will you start?

Today is the first day of the New Year…make a difference, never allow procrastination or lack of know-how to stop you.  Do something positive…if you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting the same results!
