I am a firm believer in that your core values are the foundation of any successful business. They are the beliefs and principles that guide the way you do business, and they provide a framework for making decisions and resolving conflicts.

When you have a strong set of core values, you can attract and retain a team who share your values, and you can build a culture that is based on trust, respect, and collaboration. This can lead to increased satisfaction, productivity, and innovation.

Sharing your core values can also help you to build a strong brand. When customers and clients know what you stand for, they are more likely to do business with you. Studies have shown us that clients are willing to pay more for the services from companies that share their values.

If you don’t already have a set of core values, I encourage you to take some time to think about what is important to you and your business. Once you have identified your core values, make sure that they are clearly communicated to others:

Here are some examples of core values that you might consider:

  • Integrity: Honesty, fairness, and ethical behavior.
  • Excellence: Striving for the highest possible standards in everything you do.
  • Customer service: Putting the needs of your customers first.
  • Innovation: Always looking for new ways to improve your products, services, and processes.
  • Teamwork: Working together to achieve common goals.
  • Respect: Treating everyone with dignity and respect, regardless of their background or position.

These are just a few examples, and the specific core values that are right for your business will depend on the industry you want to support and your own personal values. But no matter what your core values are, make sure that they are something that you believe in and that you are committed to living by.

Core values are not just a nice-to-have. They are essential for the long-term success of your business. So take the time to define your core values, and then live by them every day.

My core values and that of VACT Limited are as follows:

  • Commitment: As a company we are committed to our business and to doing our best at all times. We are always willing to go the extra mile, and we are always looking for ways to improve the coaching, training and mentoring we provide.
  • Courage:  Courage is the foundation of strength. In business, no matter the size of the company, it can be a challenging and isolating environment. To succeed, we need the physical courage to persevere and the moral courage to do what is right.  It is important to not only have the “Physical courage” which is the ability to face danger, pain, or difficulty without fear. It is the courage to take risks and to keep going even when things are tough. But also the “Moral courage” is the courage to do what is right, even when it is difficult or unpopular. It is the courage to stand up for what you believe in, even when it means standing alone.  Both physical courage and moral courage are essential for success in business. When we have the courage to face our fears and to do what is right, we are able to achieve great things.
  • Discipline: We are disciplined in our work and in our personal lives.  Having a high degree of self-discipline earns respect from our staff, colleagues and our clients. It helps us to cope with difficult actions.
  • Respect for Others: We treat everyone with respect, regardless of their background or position. We are tolerant and understanding, and we always listen to others’ opinions.
  • Integrity:  A collection of qualities that make an individual honest, sincere, reliable, and unselfish. It is essential for success in business and in life. When we have integrity, others can trust us and rely on us. They know that we will always do the right thing, even when it is difficult. Integrity is not always easy, but it is always worth it. When we have integrity, we build trust and respect. We create a positive environment where people can thrive. And we make the world a better place.
  • Loyalty: We are loyal to our team, our clients, and our brand. We are always willing to go the extra mile for them, and we are always looking for ways to improve their experience.
